What we collect, and what we don't
The short version: we collect your email so we can send you the newsletter, and not much beyond that. We don't sell it, and you can leave anytime.
What we collect
If you subscribe, we collect your email address. When you submit the signup form, two other things happen. Cloudflare Turnstile runs a quick check that you're a person and not a bot, and we record the IP address the request came from, which helps us block spam signups. If you answer the one question in the welcome email, we store your answer, like "engineer" or "decision-maker," so we have a rough sense of who reads us.
How we use it
We use your email to send you our writing. That's it. No ads, and nothing about other people's products. Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and using it is the end of the matter.
Who else touches your data
We keep the number of companies involved small, and we don't sell or share your information.
- Buttondown runs the newsletter. Your email and your survey answer live there.
- Cloudflare hosts the site and runs the Turnstile anti-spam check and basic request logging.
Analytics
We don't run third-party analytics or ad trackers on the site today. If that changes, we'll choose something privacy-respecting and update this page before we turn it on.
Your choices
Unsubscribe anytime from the link in any email. If you want to see what we hold or have it deleted, email hello@appliedartificialintelligence.org and we'll sort it out.
